Police say Nashua man assaulted woman

Nashua police arrested a city man early Saturday morning and accused him of assaulting a woman he knows. Police were called to a home on Spit Brook Road near Brook Village Road for a report of a domestic disturbance shortly before 4 a.m. Saturday and were told by an adult female that she had been injured several times by Joseph Cutter, 24, with a last known address of 29 Chestnut St., Nashua, police said. Police arrested Cutter around 4:30 a.m. and charged him with four counts of domestic violence: simple assault. Detectives in Special Investigation Division investigated further and later charged Cutter with a felony, domestic violence: second-degree assault, police said. Cutter was held at the Nashua Police Department on $10,000 cash bail pending his arraignment at Nashua district court on Monday, police said. The Class B felony is punishable by up to seven years in prison plus fines.
