Police say Massachusetts woman paints on fake mustache, tries to rob market

HAVERHILL, Mass.- Haverhill police say a woman used mascara to paint on a fake mustache as part of a ploy to rob a local market Monday.

Dawn Phillips-Ellison, 44, of 72 River Street was charged with armed assault to rob, according to the Eagle Tribune.

When police received a call of a robbery at the Red Hen Market on River Street, the clerk at the store told them that he suspected the aleged robber was not only not a man, but a woman who at one time worked at the market.

Police say she showed a knife and demanded money from the clerk.

Police located the suspect at her River Street home.
