Police say Manchester Yale graduate stabs student, jumps from building
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Officials say a Manchester man who graduated from Yale University earlier this month stabbed a fellow student at an off-campus apartment building then jumped to his death.
New Haven police say it happened around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday across the street from the Ivy League campus.
Officials say the suspect fell six stories onto a third-floor terrace. Yale said in a statement the man was identified by police as Tyler Carlisle, who graduated this month.
Authorities say 21-year-old victim Alexander Michaud is in stable condition at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Police say the men were acquaintances but declined to elaborate. Their Facebook pages say both are from Manchester, New Hampshire.
According to Linkedin, Carlisle worked for Rick Santorum and Frank Guinta.
Officials haven't released details of what happened before the stabbing and jump.
