Police say hunt for man accused of killing New England woman has ended
LOWELL, Mass. — Police have found the suspect in a deadly shooting.
On Thursday police combed a neighborhood where he was thought to be hiding for most of the day and had asked residents to stay inside their homes.
Police had described 51-year-old Ross Elliott as "armed and extremely dangerous."
According to Boston 25, Elliott is dead apparent suicide.
An off-duty Lowell firefighter, David Provencher, told WBZ-TV he found Elliott hiding under his motorcycle cover Thursday afternoon. He said Elliott ran off and police began scouring the neighborhood.
Elliott is accused of shooting Nicole White in the head at an apartment Thursday morning. Police say they had previously been in a relationship.
The Lowell Police Department will hold a press conference at 3:30 p.m. to update the public with information. NH1 News will update this story when that information becomes available.
