Police reminding everyone to check Halloween candy before eating it
WAKEMAN, Ohio — Halloween is the time to receive a lot of free candy, but one police department is reminding everything to take a closer look at that free candy before eating it.
The Wakeman Police Department received multiple reports of suspicious candy that was being passed out Sunday to trick-or-treaters.
Packages of Lemondheads appeared to be slightly opened, and the candy itself looked distorted, police said.
The department encourages that everyone checks all their candy before letting anyone eat it, in order to be sure that the candy wasn't tampered with.
