Police reconstruction experts at New England wrong-way crash site

The Associated Press

WILLISTON, Vt. (AP) — State police reconstruction experts are working at the scene of a wrong-way interstate crash in Vermont that killed five high school students this month.

WCAX-TV reports investigators say new witnesses continue to come forward and it's sending them back into the field to piece the crash scene together.

Steven Bourgoin has pleaded not guilty to five counts of second-degree murder in the Oct. 8 crash on Interstate 89 in Williston.

State police say 20 investigators and about 60 other witnesses are involved in recreating the crash and the timeline leading up to it.

Police have been taking measurements. They are continuing to assess things like the terrain and the condition of the cars involved. Investigators are also talking about the role speed played.
