Police: Pedestrian flown to hospital after being struck by car in Hooksett

HOOKSETT — A pedestrian was taken to a Boston area hospital by helicopter after being struck by a car and sustaining serious injury Sunday.

The man, whose name has not been released, was struck on Main Street between Riverside Drive and West River Road at about 3 p.m.

The section of Main Street was closed until about 6 p.m. because of the numerous emergency vehicles and the investigation taking place.

The event is still under investigation. It is believed at this time that neither speed nor alcohol was a factor.
