Police officer allegedly gave homeless person sandwich containing fecal matter

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A police officer has been fired after he allegedly tried to feed a homeless person a sandwich containing fecal matter.

Officer Matthew Luckhurst allegedly placed fecal matter between two pieces of bread and gave it to a homeless person.

He has since been fired but plans to appeal the decision.

The incident was reported to internal affairs by fellow officers in May after Luckhurst bragged about doing it.

The Chief of Police gave a statement condemning the officer for his "disgusting" actions. He said that the fact that the other officers reported the incident speaks to the fact that the behavior is not tolerated within the department.

Luckhurst's attorney said that his client was joking and never actually gave the fecal sandwich to anyone.

There's no eyewitness or video evidence of the event taking place. No one has come forward as the recipient of the sandwich.
