Police: Off-duty Durham firefighter found unconscious man near UNH while on jog

DURHAM — An off-duty Durham Fire Department firefighter found a man who appeared to be unconscious while jogging near UNH.

A firefighter found the unconscious man on Wednesday morning near the University of New Hampshire Foss Farm-East property, according to UNH police. Durham Fire and UNH Police responded to the firefighter's 911 call at about 11 a.m.

The man, who was not a UNH student or employee, was conscious when police and fire arrived. He voluntarily went to Portsmouth Regional Hospital with a UNH police officer for an evaluation, according to police.
