Police: Northwood man arrested for DWI, Chichester man arrested for helping him hide identity
Two people are under arrest after a traffic stop Sunday.
Police said Michael Chouinard, 23 of Northwood, failed to dim the high beams on the car he was driving. The officer determined Chouinard was driving under the influence after standardized field sobriety tests were given.
Chouinard gave the officer a fake name and birthday, according to police, but after determining his real identity, it was learned he was driving on a suspended license after a May 2015 driving under the influence conviction.
Chouinard has been charged with driving while intoxicated, subsequent offense and driving while under suspension pursuant to a conviction for driving while intoxicated.
Edward P. O’Brien, 21 of Chichester, was in the car as well. He is the registered owner of the car. He was charged with allowing an improper person to operate his vehicle, along with hindering apprehension or prosecution after police said he willingly let Chouinard drive his car and helping him hide his license.
Arraignment is set for Oct. 2 in the Concord District Court
