Police: No criminal charges from accident at Ledge Street Elementary in Nashua

NASHUA – The woman whose car jumped the curb during student drop-off, striking two students outside Ledge Street Elementary School on Wednesday, is not facing criminal charges, police said. Surveillance video of the accident from the school’s security camera shows students and parents walking into the main entrance before school started around 8 a.m. An SUV passed the main entrance, followed by a sedan driven by Renee Larochelle, 44, a mother of students at the school. The sedan drove onto the curb and hit two students who followed their mother, sending one girl into the bushes and pinning the other beneath the car. People rushed to the students’ aid while the mother pounded on the car’s hood. She then dragged one of her children out from underneath the car. One of the girls is in third grade and the other in kindergarten.
