ROCHESTER — Rochester emergency services responded to a crash on Gonic Road near a Dunkins involving two vehicles Friday.
After an investigation, police said that Theresa Gray, 47, of Rochester, was driving a Nissan Versa southbound and stopped to take a left turn. At the same time, Brian Bennett, 51, of Farmington, who was driving the Chevrolet Silverado behind Gray, was distracted by a ringing cellphone and struck the rear of Gray's Versa, police said.
The collision caused Gray's car to slide all the way into the parking of Superior Auto Sales and Services, where she had originally been turning into.
Gray and her passenger were taken to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Bennett was not transported.
Crews had to remove both vehicles from the scene, causing the road to be reduced to one lane for 30 minutes.
