Police: NH man 'going crazy' on girlfriend found with pot plants, weapons, powder

HAMPTON — Police arrested a Hampton man on several drug charges after allegedly "going crazy" on his girlfriend on Aug 12.

Hampton Police received a call at about 1:30 a.m. from a woman allegedly trapped inside a bathroom on 989 Ocean Blvd, unit 26. The woman claimed her boyfriend was "going crazy," and had a handgun.

When police did a sweep of the apartment they found three large marijuana plants growing in pots, a small pile of brown powder, fertilizer, several rifles, a handgun, and a large number of knives placed "strategically" around the residence.

Carter Soper, 40, was arrested at the scene and charged with domestic violence, sexual assault, obstructing the report of a crime, manufacture of a controlled drug, two counts possession of a controlled drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, and breach of bail conditions.

Soper had recently been arrested for a felony domestic assault charge in Raymond.

Soper was arraigned on Aug. 12 and was released on $25,000 bail.
