PORTSMOUTH — A Rochester man was charged with driving while intoxicated for the second time in just 15 hours late Monday morning.

Richard M. Shaw, 47, is accused of failing to pull over for police on the Spaulding Turnpike and leading officers on a highway chase through Dover, Newington and Portsmouth before his car was disabled by stop sticks near Exit 3A off Interstate 95.

Police said Shaw was out on bail for DWI in connection to a car crash in Dover on Sunday evening.

Shaw was charged with DWI, reckless conduct, disobeying a police officer, resisting arrest, open container and illegal drug possession. He is being held on $5,000 cash bail pending arraignment.
