Police: NH man arrested after threatening another with loaded handgun
MANCHESTER — A man was arrested after showing up at an acquaintance's home and threatening him with a loaded handgun Thursday.
Manchester police said around 6:25 p.m. they responded to 32 Welch Avenue for a report of a home invasion involving a gun.
Police spoke with the victim, Bashir Norman, 27 of Manchester, who told them he was sitting on his front steps when an individual he was familiar with pulled into his driveway and started threatening him with a gun.
Police said Norman identified the attacker as Arthur Davis, 47 of Manchester, and said that Davis allegedly threatened to kill him while he was still seated in his vehicle in the drive way.
Norman told him to leave, but instead, Davis got out of his car and approached Norman. He told police that Davis pulled a gun out of his pocket, loaded a round into the chamber and threatened to kill him again.
Norman retreated into the apartment, and Davis chased after him. Police said Davis chased Norman through the apartment, but Norman was able to escape out the back door and flee the area.
Police said Davis eventually left in his vehicle and was later located by police around 7:20 p.m. in the area of Lowell Street and Union Street. Davis was driving a 1997 Nissan Altima, which is the same vehicle Norman described to police.
Davis was by himself and complied with officers during the stop. Police said they found a 9mm handgun inside the vehicle, which they seized for evidence.
Davis was taken into custody without incident and charged with felony criminal threatening and burglary. He is scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on June 16, 2017.
