Police: NH dad found with drugs then charged with endangering 'small' son

WOLFEBORO - Police have charged a father with endangering the welfare of his "small" son after they served him with a warrant.

Police said 43-year-old Matthew Barry, of Wolfeboro, had warrants out of Pembroke for simple assault, obstructing to report a crime and domestic violence.

They showed up to his home on Knox Pasture Road to serve those warrants at 6 p.m. Saturday. Police said Barry had an undisclosed amount of marijuana and the controlled drug buprenorphine in his possession when they arrived at the home.

Police said Barry's "small" son also was in the home at the time, leading to the child endangerment charge. The child was placed into the custody of his uncle and the Division for Children Youth and Families was called.

Barry was taken to Carroll County jail and is scheduled to be arraigned March 15 at 8 a.m.
