Police: Nashua woman escaped kidnapping by running into woods, assaulted by relative

NASHUA — A woman told police she had to run into the woods to escape a relative who hit her and held her against her will.

James Brennan, 20, of Nashua was arrested and charged with domestic violence and simple assault, both misdemeanors, on Saturday night. After the resulting investigation, Brennan was also charged with kidnapping as a felony and domestic violence felony.

The victim was a women who is a relative of Brennan. She told police that he struck her in the head and held her in her home against her will. She was able to get away the nearby woods and call police. She was not seriously injured.

Brennan was arraigned on Sunday where his bail remained at $10,000 cash.
