Police: Nashua man assaulted woman while she was driving, caused crash

MERRIMACK — A Nashua man allegedly assaulted a woman who was driving, who then crashed the vehicle.

Officers responded to a local business Saturday at about 1:50 a.m. to an altercation that happened inside a vehicle.

Jacob Stockwell, 43, was identified as the passenger of the vehicle. A verbal argument between Stockwell and the driver escalated and soon became physical, which resulted in Stockwell breaking the rear view mirror and assaulting the woman, police said.

This allegedly caused the woman to lose control of the vehicle, drive off the roadway and strike a landscaping retaining wall in the parking lot of a local business.

Stockwell was arrested without incident and charged with simple assault and criminal mischief.

He was released on $3,000 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
