Police: Merrimack motorcyclist flees from officers, ends up crashing

MERRIMACK — A motorcyclist fled from police, lost control of his speed and crashed, police said.

A state trooper said he was monitoring the area of Continental Boulevard and Industrial Drive when the sound of a motorcycle traveling at a high speed caught his attention on Tuesday.

The driver's speed well exceeded the 35 mph limit, the police said.

The police followed the motorcyclist and signaled his blue emergency lights to stop him but the motorcyclist accelerated his speed, lost control and crashed, police said.

An ambulance identified Chad M. Lacrosse, 38 of Massachusetts, as the driver, and transported him to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Lacrosse then surrendered himself to the arrest warrant and was released on a $1,500 bail. He was charged with disobeying an officer and reckless driving will appear in court Oct. 20 to answer the charges of disobeying an officer and reckless driving.
