Police: Marijuana plants recovered from Auburn home involved in attempted burglary

AUBURN — Police have recovered marijuana plants from the home involved in an attempted burglary after obtaining a search warrant.

A resident from 56 Hill Drive confronted an intruder inside the home at about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, police said.

The resident shot a gun at the intruder as he attempted to burglarize the home, but no one was injured police said.

The intruder, described as a white male, between 30- to 40-years-old, with gray hair and a gray beard, has not been apprehended by police at this time.

The amount of plants recovered have not been disclosed at this time.

Lt. Charles Pelton said he does not believe the suspect poses a risk to public safety.

The residents of the home are Lisa and Stephen Spofford, according to assessing records. Lisa Spoffard is listed as the owner of Rig A' Tony's, an Italian take-out place in Derry.
