Police: Manchester officer fires gun at armed robbery suspect who had weapon


MANCHESTER - An officer fired his weapon at an armed robbery suspect on Monday night.

Police said the officer fired after the suspect brandished his own weapon at about 7:25 p.m. The 21-year-old Manchester man was arrested in the area of Wayne and Armory streets.

The suspect was treated at the hospital for a minor injury.

He is being held on an arrest warrant for armed robbery and now faces criminal threatening charges, too.

The incident is under investigation.
