Police: Man stole license plates, inspection stickers, ATV from NH auto shop
TILTON — A man has been arrested following a $40,000-burglary of an auto shop in Tilton on Wednesday.
Police responded to a burglary at Winner's Circle Auto on 472 West Main St. at about 9 a.m. Employees of the shop told police someone had broken into the store and stolen thousands in tools, inspection stickers, license plates, diagnostics equipment, and a brand new 4-wheeler.
As police began investigating, a call from Northfield police alerted them of a suspicious vehicle on Susan Lane. Northfield police responded and discovered the vehicle contained large amounts of tools and had a 4-wheeler in the bed. The man was also driving an unregistered vehicle, with false plates and a suspended license, according to police. Officers were then able to connect the suspicious vehicle back to the incident in Tilton.
Arrested was Scott Angers, 22 of Tilton on five outstanding warrants. He will be held at Merrimack County Jail on cash bail until his arraignment in Franklin District Court on Thursday.
