Police: Man runs from officers with loaded, stolen handgun in Lebanon

LEBANON— A man was caught with a stolen, loaded handgun and ran from the police on Tuesday, officers said.

Police responded to a report at Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital about a man who had been walking through the parking lot and seen entering a parked vehicle.

The caller believed that the man did not own this car, and reported that he exited it a short time later.

When police arrived at the location, they said they saw the man start to run behind surrounding buildings.

The police located Robert T. Warrington, 24 of Vermont, and confronted him. Warrington then pulled out the loaded .38 caliber revolver and threw it on the ground.

Warrington was arrested and charged with theft of a firearm, a class A felony, and carrying a loaded handgun without a license, a class A misdemeanor.

Warrington was held on $25,000 cash bail and will appear in court Wednesday.
