Police: Man on probation for meth conviction busted for lab in Manchester apartment

MANCHESTER - Officers busted a meth lab in the Queen City while investigating another incident, police said.

When police entered the Manchester apartment on Grove Street for an unrelated investigation, they said they found smoke, a chemical odor, and products associated with the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

Anthony Elwell, 42, lived in the apartment and was arrested on Tuesday around 11 p.m.

Elwell was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.

A 72-hour probation/parole hold was also issued from the N.H. State Prison because Elwell is currently on probation for a previous meth possession conviction.
