Police: Man drinking Twisted Tea busted for OUIL after hit-and-run with 6-year-old in car
MANCHESTER — Police said a habitual offender has been charged with drunken driving after hitting a parked car with his 6-year-old son in the back then ditching a Twisted Tea can in some bushes.
The hit-and-run accident happened at about 8:20 p.m. Tuesday night.
Jonathan Felch, 34, of Manchester was allegedly operating a 2014 Ford Explorer with a 6-year-old in the car when he hit a parked car on Lincoln Street.
He damaged the driver's side of the parked Chevy Impala and the passenger side of his vehicle.
Felch got out of his car and walked away from the scene with his 6-year-old, police said. Witnesses told police that Felch threw an alcoholic beverage in the bushes before the arrived on scene, and police found a Twisted Tea can near the crash site.
Officials determined that he was under the influence of alcohol and also that Felch was a habitual offender.
Felch was charged with reckless conduct, falsifying physical evidence, habitual offender, conduct after an accident, and operating under the influence of liquor.
He will be arraigned on Wednesday.
No one was injured in this incident and the 6-year-old was picked up by his mother at the scene.
