Police: Man busted with heroin at traffic stop gave fictitious name to NH officers


LEBANON — A man police said was caught with heroin at a traffic stop was wanted on multiple warrants and gave police officers a fictitious name during a traffic stop.

A passenger in the car was identified as Steffen Whitaker, 25 of Springfield, Vt., during the stop in the Upper Valley Plaza on Monday at about 7 p.m. Whitaker had active arrest warrants out of Lebanon and Keene, as well as a Capias warrant out of Grafton County.

Police said Whitaker had heroin on him and was taken into custody.

Whitaker was charged with possession of a narcotic drug and was held without bail. He was transported to the Grafton County House of Corrections where he awaits arraignment on Tuesday.
