Police: Man assaulted officer in Manchester after refusing to leave McGarvey's Pub

MANCHESTER - Police arrested a man for assaulting an officer after causing a disturbance inside McGarvey's Pub.

A restaurant manager at McGarvey’s Pub asked police to remove a customer who was out of control after refusing to leave the restaurant when staff asked him to around 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

Once police asked Dillon Coleman, 23 of Derry, to leave McGarvey's, instead of leaving the area he allegedly stopped in the middle of the street and began yelling profanities at the officer.

The officer then tried to arrest Coleman for disorderly conduct, when police said Coleman then turned and walked away ignoring the officer’s request.

Coleman then began struggling with the officer and allegedly hit him in the face as he was placed under arrest.

Coleman was charged with resisting arrest/detention, disorderly conduct and simple assault, and was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
