Police: Man arrested on heroin charges, found slumped over steering wheel in Manchester

MANCHESTER - A man was arrested on Sunday night after police say he was found under the influence of heroin.

The police said they found Daniel Mercier, 32 of Goffstown, slumped over his steering wheel in the parking lot of the La Quinta Inn and Suites on Front Street.

An officer said he noticed a bag on the floor board of the driver’s seat as he spoke with him. He also found needles, cotton, a spoon and two loaded syringes with a liquid that tested presumptive positive for heroin.

Mercier was charged with possession of a controlled drug.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 24.
