Police: Man already on probation for theft busted after Keene home break-in

KEENE — A man on probation for theft is facing new charges after police said a homeowner found him leaving his home and discovered missing items.

Officials responded to 221 Chapman Road on Friday after a homeowner returned home to find a silver/gold 4-door Volvo in his driveway and a man leaving his home from the back door.

The homeowner also discovered missing jewelry.

On Monday, police found the vehicle and the man matching the description and identified him as Andrew Schofield and on Wednesday, Schofield was talking with his probation officer and was interviewed about the Chapman Road burglary. He was then arrested.

Schofield is on probation as a result of a conviction for theft from a home in June of 2015.

This case remains under investigation and anyone with any information is asked to call Keene police at 603-357-9820.
