Police locate 'person of interest' in Manchester stabbing case
MANCHESTER - Police have located and taken into a custody a man they wanted to talk to in connection with a stabbing on Tuesday.
Police say they learned that Derek Sedita, 32, was near his home on Massabesic Street on Wednesday afternoon and arrested him on an unrelated warrant.
He was found in possession of suboxone and Ambien and was charged with possession of a controlled drug and violating his bail conditions.
Sedita is scheduled to appear on Sept. 10 in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester for the new charges.
The stabbing incident remains under investigation, and no formal assault charges have been filed against Sedita in relation to that case.
In that incident, police had responded to a report on Massabesic Street around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday where a man was bleeding and begging cars to stop and help him.
The man, a 29-year-old from Auburn, was treated at Elliott Hospital for a non-life threatening stab wound to his neck. Sedita was identified as a person of interest in that case.
