ROCHESTER - Heroin was allegedly at the center of another crime that brought police to the same Rochester motel where a 17-year-old was found fatally overdosed last month.

Rochester Police found 4 suspects at the motel with drugs and a gun following a reported armed robbery at an apartment on Academy Street that occurred around 9 p.m. last evening.

Police said those who live nearby are starting to get worried about the apparent drug problem at the Riviera Motel.

“They’re concerned about the Riviera based upon the activity that’s gone on lately there," said police Capt. Gary Boudreau.

According to court documents, the suspects burst through the apartment door while carrying weapons including a gun and knife.

The suspects were located in a room just five doors down from where teenager Eve Tarmey fatally overdosed on fentanyl last month.

“Yeah, a gun," said an alleged victim, who wished to remain anonymous. "They loaded it and put it to my head after they put me to the floor.”

The suspects got away with hundreds of dollars in cash, according to court paperwork.

However, as they ran to a getaway van - a witness spotted the suspects' vanity license plate "1DOHAIR" and later told police on scene.

A van with the same license plate was later located at the Riviera Motel - and so were the 4 suspects, who were taken into custody, police said.

Cedric Ross, 34, was arrested and charged with armed robbery and possession of a controlled drug.

Giovanni Angel Monroe, 35, was arrested and charged with armed robbery, falsifying physical evidence and also had an electronic bench warrant for failing to appear in court.

Robbie Jaklonski, 38, was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and falsifying evidence.

Ryan Tiberio, 22, was charged with conspiracy to commit a felony.

Ross, Monroe and Jaklonski were all held on $5,000 cash bail at their arraignments Wednesday morning. Tiberio had already posted bail and did not appear.

Documents said Ross was the alleged gunman and Monroe was armed with a knife. Monroe and Jaklonski are also accused of trying to flush drugs down the motel room toilet when police arrived.

The suspects are scheduled to appear in court again later this month.
