MIDDLETON - Police are investigating three explosive devices found at a Deer Run Road residence.
The call came into police around 10:26 a.m.
A former tenant left the devices behind and police said they knew at the time of the call that the person did not have "malicious intent."
A photo of the items was sent to State Police for identification, which helped police determine what area was needed for a safety perimeter.
Troop A and the State Police Bomb Squad also were called to the scene.
Middleton Fire and Rescue were staged at the intersection of Route 153 and Deer Run Road as a precaution.
A reverse 911 phone call was placed to alert residences to the call and Farmington Schools also were called to ensure that no kindergarten students were scheduled to travel to the area.
The bomb squad safely removed the devices and a second call from the 911 center was made to area residences saying the scene was safe.
The investigation is ongoing and police are reviewing evidence to determine if a crime was committed.
