Police investigating domestic assault in a car find NH felon with heroin, knives
HOOKSETT— A convicted Manchester felon was arrested for possessing knives and drugs after police found him in a car and about to inject heroin Sunday.
Police were alerted to a possible domestic assault in a vehicle at the Tri-Town Ice Arena by three different phone calls Sunday. When Police found the suspect vehicle on Maple St. in Hooksett, an a officer observed the male driver with a loaded needle about to inject heroin into his arm.
The man, identified as Malik Richards, 24, of Manchester, was pulled from the vehicle and arrested for the possession of heroin. No domestic assault had occurred between the male and female.
Police say two knives were also located in direct reach of the male and he was also charged with two counts of felon in possession of a deadly weapon.
Richards was released on $30,000 personal recognizance bail. He is scheduled to appear in Merrimack Superior Court on July 7.
Richards was also held at Merrimack County Jail on a 72 hour probation hold.
