Police investigating after Portsmouth kayak shop broken into

PORTSMOUTH — Portsmouth Kayak Adventures was broken into early Thursday morning.

When owner, Bill Downey arrived at the rental business at 7 a.m. he found a side door open and a glass window broken, police said.

Last week, Downey announced he is a new principal of Witch Cove Marina, which was renamed Portsmouth Marina. His kayak rental business is on the marina property.

Police are investigating this burglary. Anyone with information is asked to leave anonymous tips through Seacoast Crime Stoppers at (603)-431-1199.

Rewards of up to $1,000 are paid for information leading to arrests and convictions.
