Police: 'Intoxicated and agitated' suspect put NH officer in headlock, assaulted wife
HOOKSETT — While attempting to detain an assault suspect, an officer was put in a headlock and assisting officers were forced to Taser the suspect.
Robert Wilcox, 40, was allegedly "intoxicated and agitated" when police responded to his home for a domestic disturbance at about 10:30 p.m., police said.
When police attempted to detain Wilcox, he allegedly pulled both of his arms away, and began to fight with officers. During the struggle, Wilcox was able to put an officer into a headlock and officers has to deploy a Taser to place Wilcox in handcuffs, according to police.
An investigation was conducted, and police concluded that Wilcox assaulted his wife three time during an argument.
Wilcox was charged with three counts of domestic violence - simple assault, two counts of resisting arrest or detention and one count of simple assault on a police officer.
Wilcox was transported to the Merrimack County House of Corrections for a video arraignment on Friday.
