Police: In fit of road rage, man shatters car window, threatens Manchester driver with gun

MANCHESTER - A man is facing charges after police say he broke another driver's back window and threatened him with a handgun in a fit of road rage.

The incident was sparked after Raymond Desrochers, 56 of Manchester, driving a F-250 truck honked at a man and woman in a Hyundai ahead of him on Huse Road in Manchester.

The driver of the Hundai allegedly responded with a lewd hand gesture. Desrochers started yelling and swearing and witnesses said he spit at the Hyundai while the cars were stopped at the Interstate 293 intersection.

Desrochers threw an unknown object at the back window of the car, causing the window to break, police said. Desrochers then fled in his car as the driver of the Hyundai followed him.

Police said Desrochers later got out of his truck and pointed a handgun at the other driver's chest then left the area.

Desrochers was found at his home shortly after and arrested. Police said they found a Smith and Wesson revolver at the time.

He is facing a felony criminal threatening charge and a misdemeanor criminal mischief charge.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 16.
