Hampton Police were requested to assist a Seabrook officer in a burglary investigation involving Brayton Burnham.

Hampton officers arrived at the Mary Ann Motel, located at 2 Ocean Blvd., and attempted to speak with the people in room #19.

After speaking with some of the people outside, police learned that Burnham was still in the room and began to search the room.

While searching, Burnham confronted one of the officers, point a handgun at him, and fired a single round.

When the officers left the room to activate the Seacoast Emergency Response Team they heard at least one other shot fired from the room.

After all efforts of communication failed, officials sent a robot and a camera into the hotel room. They then discovered that Burnham was deceased in the bathroom.

No officers were wounded during this incident, nor did any officers fire their weapons.
