Police: Hooksett man arrested after hand-rolled marijuana cigarette found in car

MANCHESTER - A man was arrested after a traffic stop for drug possession after police said he had marijuana in the car.

Yorgo El-Khoury, 29 of Hooksett, failed to stop at a stop sign on Lakeshore Road at about 1:30 p.m., police said, and they noticed a strong odor of marijana coming from the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

A small amount of marijuana was found in a hand-rolled cigarette on the center console, they said, so El-Khoury was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled drug.

He was released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and is schedule in court on April 28.

Police said the arrest is a result of increased police presence in the neighborhood since "it has been plagued with people stopping in the wooded area to engage in illegal activities."
