Police gather at Hampton Falls home; standoff reported


HAMPTON FALLS — A standoff with a man at a home on Route 88 has brought out state and local police, who are diverting traffic from the area.

According to seacoastonline.com, Exeter police Capt. Bill Shupe confirmed the man had declined to leave the building, that his condition was "unknown" and it was not immediately known if more people were inside.

Police from Hampton Falls, Hampton, Exeter, Seabrook, and the State Police and at least two local ambulances responded. At least one police officer was seen carrying a rifle.

Police are asking people in the area to move away from the home and traffic is being diverted from the area. NH1 News has a reporter en route.
