Police: 'Friend' steals victim's purse in Manchester after she gave him a ride home


MANCHESTER — A man was arrested on Tuesday after allegedly stealing a woman's purse after she agreed to give him a ride home on Sept. 16.

The woman told police that she had provided a ride home for her friend of two years, Nicholas Bijeol, 19, when Bijeol grabbed her purse and aggressively fled. She said she tried to grab hold of Bijeol to retain her purse, but he pushed her away and fled.

An investigation led to a warrant being issued for Bijeol for one count of robbery. He was arrested on Tuesday on the outstanding warrant. Bijeol was scheduled be arraigned on Thursday in the 9th Cirucit District Manchester one the charge of robbery.
