MANCHESTER — One person was taken to the hospital following an early morning shooting Thursday.
Police responded to 55 High St. at 1:25 a.m. for reports of a gunshot-wound victim. The first officers on scene followed a trail of blood to a third floor porch where a man was bleeding profusely. Officers used a medical kit to stop the bleeding until EMTs arrived. A 23-year-old man was transported to the hospital with gunshot wounds to his extremities, police said.
It's unclear how many shots were fired, or where, but witnesses reported hearing several rounds.
The incident left many neighbors shaken, including a man who heard the gunshot victim groaning and opened his door to see pools of blood.
"I feared for my life," said Edward Habaj, a neighbor.
No arrests have been made, and the situation remains ongoing.
