Police: Drunk, unlicensed daycare owner arrested in Londonderry for endangering child

The Associated Press

LONDONDERRY (AP) — Police say the owner and operator of a Londonderry daycare has been arrested on one count of endangering the welfare of a child and the business has been closed for now.

Police said 60-year-old Lois Ann Mirbach turned herself in on a warrant last week. The Eagle Tribune reports police were called to the Adventures in Learning Child Care Center, which is also Mirbach's home, after bus drivers arriving with children couldn't contact her.

Detective Chris Olson said officers found Mirbach inside with a 3-year-old boy, and suspected she had been drinking.

A court upheld a state decision to not renew Mirbach's license in 2014 after violations were cited.

Mirbach is scheduled for court April 19. It wasn't known if she had a lawyer; a phone message was left for her.
