Police: Couple was shooting up heroin in car with baby in the backseat

MANCHESTER - Police say they stopped two people in a parked car in the midst of shooting up heroin with a 5-month-old baby in the backseat.

According to police, detectives saw a man and woman around 7:25 p.m. on Thursday in a corner of the Rite Aid parking lot on Elm Street. The man was holding a lighter and a beverage cap. Police say they then saw a syringe in his hand. The woman appeared to be acting as a lookout,

Police approached and identified the man at Robert Rainville, 28, of Lebanon, N.H. He was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, falsifying physical evidence and endangering the welfare of a child.

The woman in the car was identified as Haley Gadwah, 23, of Penacook. She was arrested and charged with possession of heroin and endangering the welfare of a child.

Both were arraigned in the 9th Circuit Court of Manchester on Friday. The baby, Gadwah's child, was placed in protective custody.
