Police: Claremont man arrested with more than $8,000 worth of bath salts

CLAREMONT - A local man was found with suspected bath salts that had a street value of more than $8,000, according to police.

The synthetic drug, which contains an amphetamine-like stimulant, typically comes in the form of crystals and has mood-altering properties.

Police say they arrested John K. Murray, 41, of Claremont, on a warrant on Thursday night. He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment and cash bail was set at $25,000.

Police say the arrest was the result of cooperation among the Claremont police, the N.H. Attorney General's Drug Task Force and the state police.
