Police charge Concord man in burglary of gifts from Operation Santa Claus

CONCORD - A local man has been charged in the theft of gift cards and toys from Operation Santa Claus.

James E. Pechacek, 23, is accused of taking items donated to provide gifts for needy children during the holidays.

Thousands of dollars worth of gifts were stored in a state garage, which was broken into during Thanksgiving. Police say a search of his residence at the Royal Gardens complex in found evidence connected to the crime.

Police say other arrests are expected in the case, including another Concord man, Hector Lito Rodriguez, 21, who is currently being held at the Merrimack County jail on other charges.

Pechacek was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Concord District Court.
