Police: Car at Rochester crosswalk gets rear-ended, pushed into crossing pedestrian

ROCHESTER - A stopped car at a crosswalk got rear-ended Friday causing it to hit a 61-year-old pedestrian who was crossing the street.

An investigation revealed that a 2011 Subaru Impreza driven by Jared Wood, 33 of New Durham was stopped on North Main Street waiting for a pedestrian to cross, when his vehicle was rear- ended by a 2004 Chrysler Sebring driven by Jennifer Howard, 45 of Rochester.

Wood's car was pushed into pedestrian Edward Walker, 61 of Rochester while he walking along the crosswalk. Walker was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening minor injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
