Police arrest wrong way driver in Concord; say blood alcohol more than 3 times legal limit

CONCORD - Police say a woman driving the wrong way on Route 393 had a blood alcohol level more than three times the legal limit.

At 8:08 p.m. Wednesday state police received a that report of a vehicle traveling westbound in the eastbound lane on Route 393 in Concord.

Trooper Irwin Malilay stopped the car in the area of Exit 1 and arrested Jennifer Gallagher, 49, of Concord.

Gallagher was taken to the Troop D barracks where a breath test revealed she had a breath alcohol content in excess of 3 times the legal limit of .08, police said.

Gallagher was charged with driving while intoxicated subsequent offense and was taken to Merrimack County Jail where she was held in protective custody. She is scheduled to appear in Concord district court on Jan. 5.
