Police arrest 2 suspects in connection with Manchester area robberies

Manchester police arrested two suspects in connection with the armed robberies that have taken place in Auburn, Milford, Goffstown and now Manchester during the past month.

Police were able to track down an alleged getaway car after Mammoth Road Convenience was robbed by a man wielding a knife around 6 p.m. last night, according to authorities. A witness, who police say observed the robbery take place, relayed the license plate of the robbers' getaway car to authorities and the 2011 gray Toyota Corolla was tracked down a short while thereafter.

As a result, John Kalantzis, 38, of Manchester, is being charged with felony-level armed robbery, and Michael Crawford, 45, of Mont Vernon, was identified by police as the driver of the getaway car, but has not yet been charged.

Kalantzis was expected to appear in court Tuesday and is being held on a 72-hour hold.
