Police: 'Aggressive panhandler' Tased, arrested on DWI charge in Concord after ramming cars

CONCORD - A Sunapee man is on the hook for DWI and resisting arrest charges after crashing his car in Concord on Friday night.

Police have identified him as 21-year-old Cameron Meehan, who was apprehended by officers after his vehicle crashed near the intersection of South and Perley Streets.

Meehan also rammed a citizen's car that tried to stop him earlier, police.

Witnesses told officers that Meehan struck several curbs and ran numerous red lights on Loudon Road. Additionally, officers say Meehan was non-compliant with their commands and was reported to have resisted arrest to the point where officers found it necessary to Tase Meehan.

According to police, Meehan was “volatile” and “had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath.”

Meehan’s alleged connection to aggressive panhandling at the Loudon Road Walmart - including a report of threatening physical harm to customers in the store and parking lot - is still under investigation.

Meehan is expected to appear in court Monday.
