Police: 63-year-old Manchester man throws knife at caretaker, stabs another man in arm
MANCHESTER - A 63-year-old man accused of being annoyed while drunk, allegedly threw a knife at his caretaker and then proceeded to stab the father of her child when he showed up to help.
Officers responded to 558 Montgomery St. Friday night after getting reports that Richard Giberson, 63 of Manchester has stabbed another man inside his apartment.
According to police, Giberson was arguing with his 37-year-old female caretaker while he was drunk and agitated for falling on his laptop.
Giberson then allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and threw it at the caretaker, but it didn't hit her.
she then called her child’s father and another man to come help her get Giberson under control.
After a struggle to contain Giberson he managed to stab the father in the arm with the knife before they were able to subdue him. His wound is non-life threatening.
Giberson has been charged with the felonies of first degree assault, criminal threatening and falsifying physical evidence. He has also been charged with the misdemeanors of criminal mischief, simple assault and preventative detention and was scheduled to appear in court Monday.
